Voice of Coding Open Learning Hub

Learn. Teach. Share. Anywhere.

An open education platform where students and teachers can learn and teach computer science on one accessible website. Free for everyone, with clear lesson plans that any teacher can follow.

Three workshops. Five sessions each.

Take them in order, or jump to the one you need. Every session takes about an hour and ends with a working quiz.

  1. Python

Learn to think like a programmer. Write real Python from your first line to a finished game.

    Beginner. No coding experience needed.

    Open the Python workshop

    1. 1Hello, Python
    2. 2Making Decisions
    3. 3Loops
    4. 4Lists and Dictionaries
    5. 5Functions and the Guessing Game
  2. Machine Learning

Teach a computer to learn from examples: train a model in the browser, then in Python.

Beginner. Finish the Python workshop first, or know basic Python.

    Open the Machine Learning workshop

    1. 1What Is Machine Learning?
    2. 2Looking at Data
    3. 3Predicting Numbers
    4. 4Sorting Into Groups
    5. 5Can We Trust the Model?
  3. AI App Development

Build an app that uses AI: from writing good prompts to shipping a small study helper.

Beginner to intermediate. Finish the Python workshop first, or know basic Python.

Open the AI App Development workshop

    1. 1How AI Apps Work
    2. 2Writing Good Prompts
    3. 3Building a Chat Loop
    4. 4Connecting to an AI Service Safely
    5. 5Testing, Safety and Demo Day
  1. 1

    Goals

What you will be able to do by the end.

  2. 2

    Lesson steps

Short explanations, one idea at a time.

  3. 3

    Code examples

Real code, with the output it makes.

  4. 4

    Exercise

    Practice the idea yourself.

  5. 5

    Small project

    Make something you can show.

  6. 6

    Quiz

Five questions that score in your browser.

A world where every student has access to high-quality computer science and AI education, wherever they live and whatever they have.

We imagine an education system that does not depend only on the experience of one teacher. With a carefully designed curriculum and clear instructional resources, anyone with the commitment and preparation can become an effective teacher, and good classes can happen anywhere.

To turn proven computer science curricula into a platform people can share.

Students gain practical skills and future opportunities. Teachers and partner organizations get a sustainable way to deliver good education.

What we are building toward

  1. 01

    Provide a standardized curriculum

Every teacher follows the same learning objectives, lesson sequence and core materials, which reduces the differences in class quality and student experience.

  2. 02

Create lessons that any teacher can follow

Complete, step-by-step lesson plans, so teachers do not need to search for resources or build a whole curriculum on their own.

  3. 03

    Support student-led learning

Students can review a missed lesson, reinforce key ideas and study independently through explanations, examples, exercises, assignments and projects.

  4. 04

    Focus on hands-on, project-based learning

Move beyond memorizing syntax. Students create games, data analysis tools, machine learning applications and AI-powered apps.

  5. 05

Train teachers and keep teaching quality high

Teacher guides, lesson procedures, sample code, classroom resources and feedback standards help new instructors and volunteers learn to teach well.

  6. 06

Expand through branches and partner organizations

A platform that new Voice of Coding branches, nonprofits, schools, community groups and international institutions can adopt easily.

  7. 07

Build a continuously improving shared curriculum

Education leaders, technology leaders and classroom instructors review and improve the lessons using student outcomes, attendance, feedback and classroom experience.

What is here today

  • Workshop overview and curriculum directory
  • Python workshop, 5 sessions
  • Machine learning workshop, 5 sessions
  • AI app development workshop, 5 sessions
  • Step-by-step student lessons and activities
  • Teacher lesson plans and guides, in the Teacher Portal
  • Assignments, projects, sample code and resource links
  • A feedback form on every lesson, so the curriculum keeps improving

A single curriculum should not end in one classroom.

We want the Open Learning Hub to become a global computer science education platform that communities everywhere can use, share and improve: preparing new teachers, starting new branches, strengthening partner organizations and bringing meaningful opportunities to more students.
